Kuala Lumpur Library

Kuala Lumpur Library (Perpustakaan Kuala Lumpur) located at Dataran Merdeka Kuala Lumpur. Formerly was a Goverment Printing Office. This building is about 110 year old. I love the art of this building, western style during British colonial plus Malay style, look nice! Thanks to government take care of this important heritage.

I born in Kuala Lumpur, spent my childhood time here for 12 years. Then I followed my family moved to Kota Kinabalu. Now come back to KL study. As a KL resident, never visit this Library. SHAME!

Today I purposely visit this library (first time) to discover what Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) done for public.

As a KL resident, I must know more place than other people. I believe a lot of KL resident never come to this library, more worst is they don’t know KL has this library. SHAME!

Now I will introduce this library. I took some photo inside the library, even though it is strictly prohibited. Sorry for the photo quality, I’m not a professional photographer, and I took these photo with my own risk.

I come along here with my friend You Wen. He drive. He also first time come. We parked our car in the car park area under the grass field. I a bit surprise for this car park, wonder when and how they build this underground car park.

Here is the rules if you want to visit the library. My friend wearing slipper and short pants, but no staff noticed him.

The interior design and the environment of the library is better than what I expected. Woody furniture just match the building art. Comfortable and relax environment, suitable to study here.

Not much people here. May be they unfamiliar with this library?

Before I came, my friend Wei Lun told me the books is old and outdated. No! He is wrong, not all the books is outdated, there are also new books there. But we can’t get the latest new book for computer and IT books, because IT books always outdated very fast.

Nice environment, clean.

Free internet access.

Comfortable study area.

The outside view from the library look great. I love it. There are some ugly building look very dirty and spoil the view. So hope the DBKL take action for it.

I just simply grab some books and “testing” my reading mood there. The top one is Popular Science magazine.

Reading with a cup of coffee will be great. I grab a cup of nescafe coffee from the machine to enjoy my reading mood.

Unfortunately, no drink is allowed to bring outside from the coffee machine area. So bad! I forced to finish my hot drink before I can go out.

I think the library should have a special area or cafe area where we can reading with a cup of coffee. I really hope to enjoy a coffee while studying with a nice skyline view of KL. I think this is a good suggestion, many people would like it. How about reserve an small area for Starbucks, Coffee Bean or Old Town there? Come on, library can make some profit there to upgrade the library.

The book shelf is not fully occupied. Library should import more books.

The library only have English and Malay books. I can’t found any Chinese and Tamil books there, just found a copy of Sin Chew Daily newspaper.

I think the library should not only import more books, but try to import some Chinese and Tamil books or magazine. Still remember what Mr. Najib's 1Malaysia? This library absolutely failed the 1Malaysia mission. This library should benefit everybody, not just for a particular group of people. No wonder not much people visit here.

Come on KL Library, there is still a lot of space can improve, at least the library is better than what I expected.

Book Drop? How we gonna drop our book there? Funny.

Next, I will going to visit the National Library Malaysia, see there is better or not. (Hopefully!)

Top 10 Saving Time Tips (Digital Life)

We are now living in the modern century, new decade. Modern people like us especially who staying in the city getting busier and busier. Many officers need to work until late night, many students like me headache because of dozens of assignment.

Time management and self management is very important to achieve work less get more. I’m sure your boss, your teachers, or your books had told you how to save time. Now I’m giving out 10 tips on how to saving time by digital media, since modern people now facing computer more than facing people.

10. CLEAN UP YOUR COMPUTER

Cleaning up your computer is a must process. So how to clean your computer? First you should make sure no dust on your keyboard, mouse and LCD screen. Then you need to clean your hard disk rubbish like browsing histories, cookies and et cetera. Here I recommend CCleaner to clean up those rubbish. You also need Auslogics BoostSpeed to optimize your computer to the fastest speed by disk defragmenting and other settings. Remember to remove all unnecessary start up programs. Also make sure your computer is free from virus. This step (Tips 10) is the most fundamental step. Always remember with a good performance computer, we can do better things.

9. USING SHORTCUT KEYS ON YOUR KEYBOARD

You should know how to do Undo by pressing shortcut keys on your keyboard CTRL+Z, copy and paste with CTRL+C and CTRL+V. If you don’t know please learn now. Not only copy and paste, you can do almost everything by shortcut keys. I recommend you go to Google to search all this keys and practice regularly. You will work fast on computer with right hand on mouse and left hand on keyboard shortcut keys.

8. FILES ORGANIZATION

Still remember in your old school time, your teachers teach you to always organize your documents in a folder? Typically, we always see that bad files organization students always forget to bring their documents, lost their files, or hard to find their files in their school bag.

Files organization also apply to your digital files in computer. With good files organization, you can achieve your files easy and fast. With good files organization your computer also run better. Imagine how hard you need to find a book on a unorganized bookshelf in library?

So now, move your files from your desktop to your folders. Organized smartly :)

Make your desktop simple, clean and creative.

7. USE DROPBOX!

With Dropbox, you can synchronize your files between your Desktop, laptop, iPhone and Adroid phone. Let’s say you create a file from your desktop, you saved it in your desktop Dropbox folder, then you are able to open it on your other mobile devices mentioned above. You are able to share your files in your Dropbox with other Dropbox users. It is fast and easy.

6. ALWAYS BRING YOUR PORTABLE DRIVE ALONG WITH YOU

Dropbox mentioned above make the portable drive less important, because we can get our files in Dropbox anywhere. But what happen the work station is without internet? So save your important files in your portable drive and always bring along with it. You don’t know when you will need it.

You can also install your mobile operating system and portable software such as Mozzila Firefox in your portable drive.

5. USE ADOBE DIGITAL EDITIONS FOR YOUR E-BOOKS

Many students like me use E-books for their study. I have many E-books in my laptop. My laptop is like a mini library now. Here I’m not explain the benefit of using E-book. When you have so many E-books, how to organize? Use Adobe Digital Editions! You can read and find your E-books in one place.

4. USE DIGITAL DICTIONARY

Are you still using those dictionaries above? Sorry you are outdated! If you still a school student, it is never mine. Nobody want to use heavy traditional dictionaries. Impossible you brings these heavy dictionaries along with you everyday. Beside that, searching a single word is slow and painful.

Some people spent few hundreds or thousand to buy All in one digital dictionary like BESTA. Finding a word with BESTA digital dictionary is now faster and easier. It is portable too.

My suggestion for you is no need to spend money to buy a digital dictionary. Download free dictionaries for your phones. Bring a single multipurpose phone is better than bring many gadget such as digital dictionary and mp3 player.

You can download Lingoes dictionary for your computer for immediate reference.

3. SUBSCRIBE RSS

Still many people don’t know what is RSS. RSS is stand for Really Simple Syndication, or you call it feed. With RSS technology, you can stay update for all your favourite websites and blogs. Whenever the websites or blogs is updated, it will notify you. You no need to go to your favourite site regularly for checking the new update or new post.

Such a good way to monitor all your favourite sites, why not try it? You need to subscribe their RSS feed in order to monitor their post update.

How to subscribe?

Step1: Press the Orange Button on your browser

Step2: Click Subscribe to this feed and add to your Favourite Bar. (Almost same way for Firefox users)

Step3: Done! You can view all you feed on top of your browser.

2. SYNCHRONIZE YOUR BLOG, FACEBOOK AND TWITTER ACCOUNTS

Many people own social web accounts like Facebook and Twitter. Some people even own more than 2 social web account such as Linkedin, Plurk, MySpace and et cetera. You will feel tired if you want to post a same thing on all social web platform.

Synchronize your social web platforms is a very good idea to save time. For example if I write this blog entry and post to my Chénsonism! blog, it will automatic post the same thing on my Twitter and Facebook; If I write “Today I’m so tired because of exam” on my Twitter, it will automatic post it on my Facebook wall.

Try to use Twitterfeed and Facebook Notes. For others, please discover yourself :)

Don’t let your Microsoft Office Outlook alone! Many students don’t know what is the feature of Office Outlook even though it Outlook staying in their computer for so many years. Entrepreneur love to use Outlook, but are they fully utilize it?

iPhone OS 4, Windows Phone 7, HP Slate

According to the official source, Apple will reveal a major operating system update this coming Thursday for iPhone – iPhone OS 4.0! Its the next generation of iPhone OS. Great! I’m very excited to see what new feature for my iPhone 3Gs. I already satisfy my current iPhone OS, so what is the new feature I’m waiting for? I hope they made it easy for file storage like a Kingston’s portable drive.

Apple is get ready for the coming competitor like Google’s phone and Windows Phone 7. Here is the sneak peak of Windows Phone 7:

iPhone is too many people using including me :) Now even Digi also come out their iPhone plan. If you ask me what phone I recommend, I will recommend you Windows Phone 7. It will available in the market around June 2010. Hopefully it will beat iPhone, make the market more competitive.

This year, so many giant company come out their powerful gadget. Sony’s Playstation Move, Apple’s iPad, Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 and one more I waiting for long time is HP’s Slate.

HP Slate will using Windows 7 OS, also coming on June 2010.

Cool right? HP Slate will be my next electronic gadget after my Sony VAIO FZ and Apple iPhone 3Gs. I really eager to buy it. Some one ask me, why I need to buy it, since I have powerful laptop like SONY VAIO FZ. Well, my answer is I’m tech geek. The reason why I not choose iPad is because its function is limited.

I bought my powerful first laptop SONY VAIO FZ 2 years ago, after working as Web Programmer for 8 months. Laptop is now very important for working adult and university students. No reason why I’m not buying it. Now I’m using this laptop typing my blog entry. I’m sure you know the importance of computer in the life.

So, what I will do for the HP Slate? Then how about my SONY VAIO FZ?

I will fully utilize my gadgets, and will not waste my money to buy it.

Sony VAIO FZ –> for Working
HP Slate –> for Study
iPhone 3Gs –> for Entertainment

My laptop will act like desktop replacement, located on my table forever, and I will not bring it out. It is quite heavy and inconvenient. It will use for programming, editing, and word processing; My phone will use for instant email, and web browsing during in the public transport; HP Slate will use for study during in the class and coffee shop. Using tablet PC like HP Slate will more easy when reading on E-book, and revise lecturer’s notes and assignment.

Will try to get it in the end of this year (Hopefully). Need to working during holiday to earn money.

Time is just like the river, passing so fast and never flow back. Now we have to say good bye to March 2010, and we going to start a new 2nd quarter of 2010.

Birthday!

I finally turn 20 on this month. Nothing special on my birthday. My cousins and his family celebrate with me with a small cake. I received a lot of wall post greeting from my friends in Facebook and SMS greeting from my family. No need to open a party, I already happy and feel touching for a short sentence greeting. Not be so happy also, since every year birthday mean getting older…

Oww ya, today is my Sister birthday. Happy Birthday to you Wei Wei~ Muakz!!!!

Blog4ft Award Ceremony

I started my blog life end of last year, then I joined a blog writing contest organized by the government call BLOG4FT, to talk good about Federal Territories. Take a look of my entries here. Last 2 weeks I received an email from them informing me to participate for their Award Ceremony, I won a Special Prize. 25 special prize is selected by juries among 5000 blog post entries. Even I’m not the top 3 winner, but this prize give me a big motivation for my competence.

What is the special prize? Nothing special also, I just got a RM50 voucher from Borders, Free 1 month Celcom Broadband and free Blackberry Gemini phone but come with 1 year contract, Bullshit!.

Saw my friend’s friend, she call Min Yi, attending the award ceremony also. She won champion in the Junior Category. Second time saw her in a week! First time saw her is during breakfast in McDonald’s Taman Connaught.

Earth Hour

Every year, human use up the Earth resources. Earth is getting sick now. Earth Hour is an hour for us to off all the light to save energy and save the Earth.

KAI WAN XIAO! (funny)

1 hour really can save the Earth? Who care? My cousin shut down his house light, but the other neighbours still sparking bright like normal days. Actually Earth hour just a remind to us to care about our Earth. No point for us to off the light for 1 hour, then we continue to waste the energy.

My university lagi hebat! Earth Hour organize concert party! What is the point? Well, I don’t know what to criticise it. UCSI University invited few bands come to rock the university. One of the band call EVE, the main singer is my primary school friend Eve Oh. The middle person in the picture below.

She is ROCKZ!!!! So bad, I did not go to support her during that period.

F1 GP Seasons

This is not my personal event/story, but Malaysian’s. This year F1 is worth to watch.

1Malaysia F1 Lotus Team will going to rock us next week. We Malaysian’s hope to see them success!

This year, 7 times world champion Michael Schumacher will be back in action in the Mercedes PETRONAS team. PETRONAS sponsoring his team. It sound good, when I heard PETRONAS + Michael Schumacher.

I planned to go Sepang for this event, but the student prize RM150 is still expensive for me. :(

Only 1 post for this February month! What a SHAME blogger!

Can’t write a summarise post for February. This month I will only talk about my new dressing.

CHINESE NEW YEAR BOUGHT NEW WEAR

Yeah~ Chinese New Year!
As usual, I will only buy new dresses one time every year before Chinese New Year.

This time I bought 6 shirts (tee & formal), 2 skinny jeans and pair of shoes. Spent almost RM800!
I never spend so much and never bought so many for myself.

Quite satisfy my taste this year. I feel that my taste become more and more fashion and artistic. I try to use the artist’s point of view to choose my dressing. Dare to choose some colour which other male always avoid and shy to wear.

I want to buy purple or pink colour shoes like Eason Chan’s as shown in below, but I can’t find in Kuala Lumpur.

The shoes colour is it too bright for you? My friends said it is weird and ugly matching, but I feel that it is special, creative and trend match!

When you wearing this type of colour shoes, sure many people will spot their eye sight to you. This is why many guys not dare to wear, because majority scared of public’s weird eye sight.

Artist wear in this way because they want stand up themselves among other artists.

Well, can’t find purple one, finally I choose blue, which available in KLCC Adidas Original Store.

Yeah! I’m happy because of this new colour shoes, BLUE!
When my cousin first saw it, she said: “HAR!??? WHY BLUE?”
Someone said: “YOUR SHOES IS WEIRD~”
Someone said: “WOW!!!!”
Anyway, this is different people’s point of view.

Nah! My favourite artist JJ Lin also wear blue, but is light blue. (Haha… actually some of my taste is copy from him)

I also bought the same colour skinny jean like JJ’s. When my dad first time saw I wearing this way, he told me don’t wear like girl style. Lolz~ Boy wear red jean why cannot?

Still many guys cannot accept other colour such as red, yellow, green and purple, That why when you open their cloth cabinet, you will only see dark colour jeans.

The Busy January Life

Almost the whole month I haven’t update my blog, you don’t know what exactly happening on me. My personal timetable overfilled of work and task. This month is my busiest month of my life. But I love busy, because busy let me learn more and have fun. Am I weird?

Busy On Fully-utilising my iPhone 3Gs

I am happy to using my new iPhone. I always find out the best way to use the phone to enhance and help my life. Now my iPhone fully loaded by useful apps.

The screenshoot here is some of my favourite apps.

The Gizmodo and Lifehacker is my favourite web app. Now I can read my favourite blog by using iPhone when waiting the bus or LRT. The Gizmodo is the famous technology gadget weblog; while the Lifehacker is the famous IT weblog.

Dictionary and Power Word (金山词霸) help me a lot on the study. I can check the English-Chinese meaning and spelling during the class.

Facebook App is our favourite best app among all. Now I can check my Facebook notification anytime. Sometime I use the Facebook Chat with my friends without using SMS.

Twitterrific is a third party Twitter app. I use this app to navigate my 2 twitter accounts.

TCT Lite is a Periodic Table app. With this app, I can check the element properties on the Periodic Table. This app help my study a lot, especially on chemistry related topic.

Dropbox enable me to save documents on my iPhone. I save my class timetable and some of my lecture note on the phone. Now, I no need to remember to bring my class timetable.

For those CIMB Bank customer, this CIMB Clicks iPhone app is a must. With this app, I check my balance anytime and also search for nearest CIMB ATM too.

MHmobile is the Malaysia Airlines iPhone app. This app enable us to booking air ticket as well as checking the boarding time and more… I haven’t discover the complete feature of this app, still new for me.

TouchMouse created by Logitech company. I can use my iPhone as a touch pad mouse like laptop’s to control my laptop. This app is useful especially doing presentation. I will doing my class presentation next month, and I will show off this wireless mouse feature, without standing in front of laptop. This app definitely make my presentation skill look more professional.

Do you know what is metronome? Metronome app give me the real metronome feature, when I playing music. Music player will know this and love this.

MPB give me to listen ONE FM, HOT FM and FLY FM one the move.

As a geek, a smartphone like iPhone is a must gadget. iPhone is my second personal “property” after my laptop VAIO FZ. The word “personal” mean it is belong to me and I use my competence to get it.

Busy On Updating [BS] Biasiswa Scholarship for Malaysian Weblog

[BS] Biasiswa Scholarship for Malaysian is is a very potential blog. My “potential” definition is fast growing and future extendibility. After few month since I open this blog, this blog grow 2000% on the world web site ranking and now it rank no.11500 in Malaysia according to the Alexa Annalistic. On the other hand, this blog grow average 100 fans per day in [BS] Facebook page.

SPM, STPM and A-Level result will announce soon, many people are looking for scholarship and loan. This is my golden period to make this blog more popular. So, I am keep looking for scholarship to update in this blog.

During my scholarship research on internet, I found one of the scholarship blog similar to me keep copy my self-writing post to his/her scholarship blog blindly. I don’t know I’m happy or angry about this, but I will warn him/her in the later time.

Busy On New Semester University Life

This is the normal students life in university. I will do my best in all assignment, presentation and examination, because I want to get first-honour degree and get all powerful knowledge, this is my target.

If you are my true friend, you will know my behaviour. I will always give myself very high target, and going to achieve it.

Beside that, PTPTN Loan is my headache. To apply a PTPTN is so hard and many complex steps to do. One step mistake, you will be reject on applying the loan.

Busy On Looking Old Friends

Thanks Facebook, I found almost of my old primary school classmates. Some of them is still missing, I am search them out.

I disappear suddenly and misconnection with them for 8 years. Now I’m appear again and would like to reconnect to those of them.

8 years never meet! Some of them become handsome, become pretty, become mature, and become crazy. It is fun to discover the human growing process.

Hope to have a gathering. Class 6C Reunion!

World Skyscrapers – 2010 Current and Future

Tomorrow, 4 January 2010, Burj Dubai Tower (818m) at Dubai will beat Taipei 101 Tower (508m) at Taiwan, and will dominate the world, officially become the world’s tallest tower.

I am believed that Burj Dubai Tower will the world’s skyscrapers height for at least 10 years. There are 10 skyscrapers is still under construction, which is taller than Petronas Twin Towers at Malaysia (452m) but shorter than Burj Dubai Tower.

Petronas Twin Towers is the first modern skyscraper built in Asia and the world in year 1998. It beat the Sears Tower from United State which holding the world’s tallest tower title for 24 years. After Malaysia making history and record, many other country believe their competence and willing to making new record and history.

Today many country especially from Asia compete to build world’s tallest. We can see city like Shanghai, Hong Kong and Dubai standing more than two 400m+ buildings.

What’s the next? Can you imagine the next 20 years?

Kuala Lumpur World Marching Band Competition (KLWMBC) 2009

Kuala Lumpur World Marching Band Competition (KLWMBC) 2009 is a mega event for those marching band geek like me. This is the third time organising since year 2007.

I came to watch the show during the final day 19 Dec. So bad the organiser said 7.30pm start the competition, but we wait until 8.15pm only start. It is too lucky I got the RM100 ticket from somebody.

I’m expecting high quality of the show, but first few bands give me “boring”!

The quality show begin, when Boonwattana Marching Band come out with my favourite music Gladiator, but still surprises not enough.

The show I’m very enjoying is Victoria Institute Cadet Corp Band (VICCB). My thumb up!

This is the best show ever they perform. I’m so surprise their pit percussion set is so complete.

They perform well, but this is not the real VICCB, because I notice that a lot of ex-member performing inside.

After the VICCB, got another 2 bands from Thailand. Their sound is far powerful than VICCB.

Satriwitthaya 2 Marching Band is the champion band. Congrat! No comment, their sound is too powerful.

Chonkanyanukoon School Marching Band is the first runner up band. They perform well with very clear and good childhood story through out the show. Their colour visual effect is well designed.

Sultanah Asma Marching Band is the another band from Malaysia. They got the highest score in the previous round, but get second runner up in the final. Their music and formation is clean. But not enough surprise, if compare to VICCB.

Working at PC Fair KLCC

Last week PIKOM PC Fair was successfully host at KLCC 4 Dec 2009 to 6 Dec 2009. PIKOM PC Fair is the largest PC Fair in Malaysia. PIKOM organise the PC Fair 3 times every year. I very familiar with this PC Fair, because I visited the Fair every times since I study at KL.

This time, of course, I also come to the PC Fair. Not visiting around the Fair, but working in the Fair.

4 Dec 2009, morning 10.30am, I wearing very blue t-shirt, grabbing a USB stick modem, standing in front the Celcom booth to get ready for the broadband wars! Our booth located at the middle Hall 4 entrance. Just beside our booth is our yellow enemy (Digi) and orange enemy (Streamyx).

11.00am sharp, BANG!!!
Cloud is beginning. We all start waving our USB stick modem to attract the customers. This is my first time doing sales in the public pool. I’m still nervous and don’t know what to say to attract the customer deal with me. Few hours later, I successful get a customer. Now I know that the “free” word is so powerful and useful. Rather say anything, we just shouting “FREE MODEM!!!!” to attract the customer, especially Malay.

Our target is 10 customer per day, but I only successfully deal 3 customers in the first day. Second day I’m not participate. While the third day, I successfully deal 6 customers. Even though not achieve the target given by the manager, but I quite satisfy the result. I learnt a lot during the event.

Vernacular Education System or Single National Education System?

You prefer to continue vernacular education system or change it by having single national education system?

The vernacular education in Malaysia was started since the British colonial, and the system is implementing until today accordingly with the Federal Constitution. These different vernacular schools is always supported by the racial based politic party to ensure the position and important of their mother tongue as well as their ethnic position.

According to the statistics, 93% of Malays students, 90% of Chinese students and 70% of Indian students often attend different primary school systems according to their mother tongue, curbing opportunities for interaction between young of different ethnic backgrounds.

It is obvious that education system is the one of the obstacle to our nation unity. Despite, we are witnessing there are a lot of non-government organizations (NGOs), individual and nevertheless party politics are claiming that they are championing the vernacular schools. In our nation, a lot of struggles to develop these vernacular schools and some politician even politicking this issue for their personal benefit. They have forgotten that it is their responsibility to upgrade the schools. Such politicians are fooling the people and the people also being cheated again and again in many occasions.

Race relations were better just about three to four decades ago. English-medium schools era was an example. Many urban Malays, Chinese and Indians attended English-medium schools back then. The Alis, Ah Chongs and Mutus did everything together unaware of their difference. They spoke a common language – English or Bahasa Malaysia. The Chinese and Indians themselves did not speak their mother tongue well or did not speak it at all except for a handful and had remained divided among themselves in their own dialect groups mainly speaking their own dialect.

A step was taken by former Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir, he believe that by building Vision School to achieve unity, that students use classes on the Constitution and other such activities to bring students together, we should be glad that such quality good school is exist in Malaysia, but what happen when some school still have problems such as lack of classrooms, lack of basic amenities and some schools even no roof to protect the students from sun and rain? Vision School is not the best solution, it is wasting money.

We must ready to change and to be changed. We must bring one system which only with national schools. However, it may raise the strong protest from Chinese educationists and various parties with a tendency to become another racial issue.

From my opinion, I suggest and support government to end up the vernacular school system and having a single national education system, I call it national school.

The definition of my suggested Single National Education System is Bahasa Malaysia as the first language, English as the second language, Chinese and Tamil made compulsory for their ethnic groups. Even it is national school not vernacular school, but this system still take care of each ethnic group and maintain the important of their mother tongue. This education system may unite young generation but we cannot make a prediction that they are able to handle English language.

In this moment, they put mother tongue in first place but look on further. It is no doubt that English language is an international language, but mother tongue language also significant for Malaysian, because we know the important of the multi culture factor can bring economy benefit to the country.

Government should maximise the pros and minimise the cons when they set up an education system. An independent multiracial central education committee or body can then be set up to monitor and ensure the proper implementation of this newly revamped national school system. Language board must also be set up to uphold the standards of the languages taught in school. Other types of schools that encourage racial segregation should also be reviewed, such as MARA junior science colleges, matriculation colleges and residential schools. These are NEP-related institutions which must also be sorted out to be in line with the new national school system. All races combined in a schools striving towards one direction and vision. Students won’t care about the difference of race when they are in the primary school.

Politicisation of our education must be terminated and drastic measures must be taken to improve the standards of Malaysia education. The recruitment of more dedicated and depends someone ability but not their race background. Nobody with a sound mind would want to shun national schools and universities if they provide an exceptionally high quality of education.

Malaysian don’t put too much attention to Beyonce’s sexy, Ali’s special right, Ah Ming’s mother tongue.

I just discovered how to do this for Blogger/Blogspot. So, I’m going to record the steps I have done here. You may found other tutorial from other website, but some of them is not working for Blogger/Blogspot but working for Wordpress. Why the other tutorial not working? Because they asking you to upload a file call xd_receiver.htm to your blog. Blogger/Blogspot do not allow to upload plain HTML. Here is the alternative way in 5 easy steps.

First Step:

Go to http://www.facebook.com/developers/createapp.php
Key in your Blog Name.

Agree the terms.

Click the “Create Application” to continue.

Second Step:

Copy the API Key to somewhere like notepad.

Upload your web icon and logo

Third Step:

Click Connect Tab on the left hand side

Type your Blog URL “yourblogurl.blogspot.com” in the Connect URL field.

Now click the “Save Change” button on the bottom

Forth Step:

Go to Blog Dashboard > Layout > Edit HTML

星洲日报与马华党争

马华从以前到现在，一直都在内乱党争。以前林良实时代的 A、B 派，到今天的翁蔡之争，争来争取还是要争。

这些政党人物号称要为国家与人民服务，可是他们根本没有时间为大众服务，因为他们都把时间浪费在思考能力上。他们思考如何把座上的龙头大哥拉下来，他们思考如何让自己光明正大的坐上龙头宝座。

马华党员再争下去，是不会有好结果的。

其实党争只是普通的家常凡事，但是不知道为什么星洲日报和 Astro AEC 新闻报报看每天都在报道马华党争的新闻。这样反而让党争更加剧烈。

星洲日报常用了头版及占了7页的栏刊报道有关马华的新闻，我每天看马华的新闻都看得厌倦了。这真是浪费我买报纸的金钱。我买报纸是为了关注国家与世界的新闻，不是仅仅为了看马华的报道。反观这些“大”新闻在别的报刊上如 The Star 只是一个“小”新闻罢了。The Star 是个注重国家发展与大众动态的报章；而星洲日报却爱把小新闻弄成大新闻，过于注重华人的新闻与华人的动态。

星洲日报注重华人新闻是因为读者大多数都是华人，华人只注重华人的新闻，因此星洲日报的新闻都围绕着华人的话题，这样就能把报纸卖得更多。

KL SMART Tunnel - World Longest Tunnel

KL SMART Tunnel is about 9.7 km long and has internal diameter of 11.83 m. The SMART integrates both storm water management and a motorway in the same tunnel.

The Storm water Management Component comprises of the diversion structure, a holding basin, a bypass tunnel, a storage reservoir and the twin box culvert and an outlet structure. The total storage capacity for SMART system is 3 million m3. The existing ponds at Kg. Berembang and Taman Desa utilized as holding basin and storage reservoir.

The motorway consist of a 3 km double deck structure within bypass tunnel with ingress and egress connection links at both ends of the structure. The ingress and egress connection to the motorway Tunnel Linking KL - Seremban Highway to Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Tun Razak.

The motorway consist of four ventilation and emergency escape shafts at about 1 km intervals and cross passages at 250 m intervals along the motorway tunnel.

A flood detection system and control and surveillance team will be incorporate in the overall SMART system to effectively integrate and manage both storm water and traffic.

The operation of the SMART system works on three principal mode operation based on the relationship between flood discharge at the Sg. Klang / Sg. Ampang confluence and the operations status of the motorway. The river water stages and river discharge will be monitored via hydrological stations along the rivers.

The flood discharge will only be diverted into the bypass tunnel when it exceeds 70 cumecs. For flood discharge between 70 to 150 cumecs, the motorway will still be open to traffic. The motorway will only be closed when the flood discharge exceeds 150 cumecs for the full storm water operation of the SMART, which is expected once or twice a year.

The reinstatement from storm water to motorway operation will be initiated when the flood discharge recedes to 70 cumecs. The reinstatement process will take about 4 days and this involves cleaning up and reinstalling all portable equipment to full operation mode.

Kuala Lumpur Government should build a skyscraper/buildings museum gallery which provide information such at buildings height, feature, and history about all the skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur. 3D buildings model must show off in the museum gallery.

I’m proud to be invited to the awards day.

There are more than 10 awards category and more than 700 students awarded. I’m one of the awarded under the UCSI Scholarship category. One of the category I’m interested is the Dean’s List Award. This award category is honour to students who score 80% and above in all subjects in 1 semester, he/she will get the certificate and RM500 cash on the awards day. I’m aiming this!

最近空闲时或搭轻快铁时都在阅读一本激励性的书刊。这能让我充分的利用个人时间，不浪费每一分每一秒，亦能升级个人的思想。

这本书是来自张礼文的作品《20几岁，你要改变什么》，在 Kinokuniya KLCC 能买到。这本书非常适合大学生阅读，中学生也适合。里面的内容都描述着一个成功人与失败人的故事，也教导我们如何面对人生。我觉得这本书的内容都与我周边人的故事很相似。这里有一段非常有意义：

二十几岁不能改变；
三十几岁就不敢挑战；
四十几岁就不能想象；
五十岁就可能四处流浪。

看了这本书后，感觉很多事都想得通了。

年轻人本来就是要看多一点有用的书籍，进修自己。反观，现在的年轻人都爱看无聊的八卦杂志，爱看太多的虚拟爱情小说，爱谈天喝茶，爱玩电玩，爱看电视剧或爱上网消时。

地球人口暴增，竞争得更快速。每个人都在公平玩游戏，看谁能玩到比自己的起跑点更远，谁就是成功，落伍者即是失败。

Future Rail System in Malaysia

Syarikat Prasarana Negara Bhd (SPNB), the state-owned public transport operator, plans to spend up to RM7 billion to extend 2 light rail transit (LRT) lines in Kuala Lumpur.

The 2 extension lines is Kelana Jaya Line (formerly PUTRA) and Ampang/SRI Petaling Line (formerly STAR) will cover a total of 34.7km and is due to start early 2010 and fully completed by end of 2012.

Kelana Jaya Line LRT Extension

There will 13 new stations at the Subang area after the Kelana Jaya station. It will include interchange station with Subang Jaya KTM commuter station and interchange station with Sri Petaling LRT Line before ending at Putra Height.

The current average daily passenger volume is 180,000. It is expected that more people will use this public transport in the future. There is only 2 car hub in this train and will added 2 more car hub in the future to fulfil the passenger.

Ampang/Sri Petaling Line LRT Extension

13 new stations at the Puchong area after the Sri Petaling station. It will include interchange station with Sri Petaling LRT Line before ending at Putra Height.

Kota Damansara – Cheras New MRT Line

The proposed new rail line from Kota Damansara to Cheras, measuring 42km to be build and using Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system because of high population density. It is also a possible extension from Kota Damansara MRT station to Sungai Buloh KTM station.

The proposed alignment showed the new line running from Kota Damansara along Persiaran Surian to the Damansara-Puchong Expressway and then heading towards the city centre along the Sprint Expressway, through Bangsar Baru and Jalan Bangsar.

It will then run parallel to the existing Kelana Jaya Line to Nu Sentral in KL Sentral, then Pasar Seni and Masjid Jamek before heading to the Bukit Bintang along Jalan Raja Chulan.

The route will then pass Pasar Rakyat in Bukit Bintang and then Jalan Tun Razak where it will join Jalan Cheras.

It will continue along the road and the Cheras-Kajang Expressway to the Balakong interchange near Cheras Batu 11.

There will be around 30 stations along the line, including a few interchange stations. It willstart from Kota Damansar SEGi University College (my Pre-U college), pass through Taman Connaught (my University UCSI is here) and pass through Kampung Batu 11 (my primary school SJK(C) Batu 11 Cheras is here). It is a great MRT line and connected few major shopping centre. Below is an indication of the proposed alignment:

Revival of Putrajaya Monorail Line

This is not a new project in Putrajaya but was halted in year 2003 due to the economy and financial. This project will revive and continue the project once the Putrajaya CIty has enough residents.

The structure was indeed built as a bridge but it was intended for the delayed Putrajaya Monorail project.

Described as the missing link in the developing public transport network in Putrajaya, the project has been hanging in the balance since 2004 when it hit a snag due to federal budget constraints

Johor LRT/MRT/Monorail Proposal

Iskandar Malaysia, formerly known as Iskandar Development Region (IDR) and South Johor Economic Region (SJER) is the main southern development corridor in Johor, Malaysia. The Iskandar Malaysia was established on 30 July 2006.The project is administered by Iskandar Regional Development Authority (IRDA) and is named after the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Iskandar.

The development region encompasses an area about twice the size of Singapore, including the city of Johor Bahru and towns of Pontian, Senai, Pasir Gudang and the construction of a new administrative capital in Nusajaya. Johor Bahru District is included in its entirety, as are parts of the district of Pontian. Five local planning authorities have jurisdiction over the covered area, including Majlis Bandaraya Johor Bahru (Johor Bahru City Council), Majlis Perbandaran Johor Bahru Tengah (Johor Bahru Tengah Municipal Council), Majlis Perbandaran Pasir Gudang (Pasir Gudang Municipial Council), Majlis Perbandaran Kulai (Kulai Municipal Council), and Majlis Daerah Pontian (Pontian District Council).

In the future, a multi-modal terminal will be developed in the Iskandar Johor Area, as well as an MRT/LRT system connecting Johor Bahru City Centre to other areas in Iskandar Malaysia.

This is the proposal of integrated rail system in Iskandar Johor. I believe in the future, Johor will be the another good city inline with Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Others Mooted Possible Rail Line

Other rail networks mooted for Klang Valley include a possible extension of KL Monorail and extension of KLIA Express to the proposed permanent LCCT.

Perhaps these project will be done before year 2020. Malaysia Boleh!

UCSI University Life

I had Just started my engineering degree at UCSI University Kuala Lumpur, North Wing for 1 week and completed 2 tests and 1 assignment. It is very rush for me, because I am late comer in the class.

Previously I planned to work for 4 months only join UCSI at January. But, finally I successful applied UCSI 50% scholarship for 4 years study, so I join the class immediately.

This semester is short semester, so I’m taking 2 subjects only. Engineering Fundamentals and Calculus & Geometry II. Calculus is quite hard for some of the students, may be they didn't learn it before in their Pre-U level? For me is okay, I had learn it before in my Pre-U.

UCSI KL got 2 campus, one is North Wing Campus for engineering and architecture another one is South Wing Campus.

North Wing here is quite boring. Here male population is 95%. Female population is 5% and concentrate in chemical engineering and architecture study. On the other hand, here don’t have library and study area for students. The only library is at South Wing Campus. The worst part is the cafeteria. North Wing Campus only got one cafeteria. The food here is very expensive. I miss the food at SEGi UC, there got more choice and better taste compare to here.

Lifestyle wise, I could say SEGi UC is better. Because SEGi UC located at Kota Damansara, the place is clean, orderliness and near the Curve and One Utama. UCSI located at Connaught, Bandar Tasik Selatan. This area is quite old and a bit dirty.

Anyways, these is not a problem for me. Because I come to UCSI is due to the course is recognise by Board of Engineering Malaysia. I come here for study, not for wasting my time in leisure.

UCSI offering a lot of clubs for students such as pet lover club, diving club, Christian club, Buddhist club, and others. Not sure which club is the best for me, but I joined ESA and ITSA. Hope to make more friends come from South Wing Campus’.

Next week I will having an award ceremony at UCSI. Need to wear formal during the ceremony. I will meet a lot of smart and brilliant students on that day. I’m looking forward to it.

人生的抉择

人生许多事情需面对解决。对与错，好或不好，必需清楚知道，勇敢选择自己的路。

每当遇到二择一的人生道路时，我都很害怕选错路，非常困扰。

还记得我人生的第一条路，当时我小六毕业，父母问我要念独中还是国中。很少孩子有选择的机会，我父母让我自己选择。虽然这不是什么大决定，但是我始终觉得很头痛。当时我对自己的学业没信心，因小六检定考试只考获一个优等，认为自己的功课很难追得上别人。此外父母事业上遇上了障碍。虽然他们说再穷也不能穷教育，但我不想让他们增加经济负担，也不想让自己负担独中功课的压力，最后选择了国中。我就读善导中学。我不后悔就读于国中，反观觉得自己在国中出人头地的机会比独中高。也许是国中的人才比较少？

第二条路我也成功跑出来了。这一条路我站在三岔路口犹豫了三个星期。我当时必需决定要往理科，商科或文科发展。起初我是被校方安排至理科班。看见个个精英都在理科班，感觉很怕输，因为从初中一到初中三从未输过。这时我突然想转科，不想去梦想，我只想念商科。于是便向学业主任Ms. Rachel 申请转科。很少人能被她批准转科，她切那么大方听了我的理由后既点头批准，仿佛他知道我的未来去向。在商科班上了几天的课，总觉得很不自在，真的很怕自己做错的决定。最后的决定下，我又再次申请转回理科班。虽然起初的成绩满江红，但慢慢地适应下，最后的大马教育文凭考试我侥幸考获七个优等。七个优等对我来说非常满意，因为真正准备功夫才一个月。有点后悔当初不多下一点心机念书，而太过活跃于课外活动，否则我可能是校里的文武双全的高才生。理科班，我没选错它。

第三条路如迷宫似的，兜转了一年才跑出来。这一条路有很多选择，Diploma，Foundation，A-Level，STPM等等。当时我根本不了解大马高等教育系统。朋友们都说一年半的STPM是最幸苦念的，而且也是浪费时间。这些传言让我打消念STPM的念头。不念STPM年什么？我不知道。就在这时，The Star报馆公司赞助我修读资讯工艺Diploma。虽然Diploma需两年半完成，但是免费奖学金，谁不要？父母知道后也非常开心，忙着宣传儿子的成就。既然能让父母开心，我也没有主见地签下合约。到了学院后，因某些问题导致我不能开课而需延迟两个月。我非常不满，突然不想要这个奖学金，不想要这个Diploma了。最后的商量下，我转进了理科Foundation，就这样轻轻松松完成了一年的大学先修班。如果再让我从选，我会选择STPM。STPM的路径能通往国立大学，私立大学及国外大学；A-Level，Foundation及Diploma有固定的限制。

现在我又来到另一个路口了，这次要选择第四条路。我被UCSI University录取了，同时也被University of Sheffield 录取，必须二择一。选UCSI的好处是它的E&E Engineering受 BEM承认。选Sheffield的好处是它受外国承认，而且是世界排名73的顶尖大学。Sheffield也赞助一年在大马修读的奖学金，但是其余在英国的三年需自付。我清楚了解父母经济能力的处境，现在怎么办？还在考虑中。

I Love Malaysia

I love Malaysia NegaraKU. Staying in this Country for about 20 years, patriotic to this country.

Kuala Lumpur! Is the heart of Malaysia. I born at here.
It is a modern city, fast growing city, but not as fast as Dubai City.
The beautiful skyline with the King Petronas Twin Towers and Queen KL Tower.

A lot of nice buildings here, but most of them are not higher than 200 meters. I hope future got more higher building to be construct and hope one day another higher building replace Petronas Twin Towers.

Kuala Lumpur still need some improvement before become a REALLY good city.

Other than the skyline need to improve, the cleanness and traffic also need to improve.

This is my HOME.
My HOME at Kota Kinabalu City.

I moved to here since 2002. Kota Kinabalu 2009 panorama had changed a lot, improved a lot. Even though here don’t have much tall building, the tallest building here is Yayasan Sabah.
The city is facing the blue sea and the standing behind one is South East Asia tallest mountain – Kinabalu Mountain.

I hope the new Kota Kinabalu city can be develop at Likas and Sepangar area, because the current city has a lot of limitation.

Going to Register New Company

This 2 years I had do a lot of freelance design and programming work. I also do computer repairing services in campus hostel. Earn some money from there.

Now I'm planning to register a new company for multipurpose jobs, as long as can earn. Majoring in web design, music editing, and real estate.

08/08/09, 6pm night, I went to Jesselton Point visit Shan Tao Band's 2nd concert after my year 2007. Meet a lot of ex-members and my junior there. I saw principal Lee Wah Ban too. He still remember me when he calling my name and even hug me.

It is a nice experience! Kota Kinabalu getting nicer and romantic.
Overall the concert is okay.
I like the new colour guard feature where normal concert do not have.
But they just lack of some smiling face.

I beleive give Shan Tao 2 or 3 years, they will become a very strong band.

After the concert, I drive to The Texas beside the KK Uppserstar for my form 5 class gathering. This is my first time driving without parents' guide. All the friends din't change much, except Kah Hing, his hair is cool.

What the BIG family!

Since my grandfather pass away on few weeks ago,
my life getting more interesting and unpredictable!

There was some problem between my father and grandfather.
It is too complex relationship and hard to describe the full interesting family story here. Hence I represent my dad to the grandpa's funeral.

Here,
I meet a lot of strange relative that I could say never meet before in my 19 years life. May be I meet them before when I was kid. According to my father, the CHIN family is not less than 200 members!!! My father's grandfather call 陈来 got more than one wife, I'm not sure 2 wife or 3 wife. My grandfather call 陈天福, elder son of 陈来 also got 2 wife. He got 9 children plus 1 more dead in early life. My dad is his elder son.

Due to the complication, I ever plan to draw a big tree chart and find out who is the family members...
It is must for me, because life is unpredictable, who know the girl I looking for is under my family tree?

In this big CHIN family,
each member keeping their own secret to each other,
and not telling to their younger generation.

In this funeral, I know few "new" cousins.
They said they don't know of my existence and their parents never tell them about me, my family, and the pass story.

In this new era, I think nothing secret anymore not to telling to their younger generation. We as a young generation should know what the pass, so that we not repeat the wrong again. History teach you to not repeat the wrong again. I always like to ask about my dad and mom's old story and how they meet until married. Do you?

Recently, I got a secret from my father that kept for 20 years.
It's UNPREDICTABLE!

From 陈来 until me 陈军豪, I'm 4th generation.
The 4th generation members now busy on study and working.
We still young, nobody care on the pass.
But, I willing to find out more, and I will tell this story to my son.

第二度返校园办私事

自中学毕业以来，英文逐渐成了我的主要沟通语言。
这是为了让自己能赶上与世拼劲的列车。

虽然如此，我也不忽略华文与马来文的重要性。
毕竟精通多种语言必有其长处！
因此这一次我尝试以华文抒写部落格，
一展我当年的华文内功！

这次我又重返校园办个人私事。
因人际广之故，我没告知任何一位友人，免遭遗漏通知者妒忌。
我以低调现身避开多方面的应酬，免碍个人事物。

事毕后，突来一声丫丫。
顿时电脑室的学生都转头后望。
丫丫糟了！我又变成乌鸦了！前面几位认识的都知道我的存在，我微笑回复。
原来那乌鸦迷是未来白衣天使 - 惠敏。

无聊地聊上几句，
我便与四位未来白衣天使用餐。
随后，一位爸爸迷突击而来，以手上的手机武器捕捉我的风采。
为避开之，险夺我手上持着的相机小命。
我原谅她，望她能改善调皮无理之为。

Busy In Looking For Universities and Scholarships

These few days I always sleep late because of busy in looking for universities and scholarships information.

I'm going to start my e&e engineering degree at September.
Not sure which university.

University Tenaga National (UNITEN) is my first choice, because it is recognise by Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM) and also recognise by international.
Study in Malaysia is more cheaper than oversea.

Other of my choice is MMU, UTP, UCSI, UTAR, UTP, Curtin, Sheffield UK, NUS Singapore, CUHK Hong Kong and PolyU HK.

I hope to get scholarship so that may dream may come true and can reduce my parents' burden.

E-books for University Students

Today I'll tell you some tips to changing your study way in University or College.
I'll show you how to download E-books (Electronic books).

First, go to Google
type book title + Author + book edition + RAR/ZIP/PDF/DJVU -torrent

The "+" sign is to make the keywords include in your search result, while the "-" is to exclude the keywords from your search result.

Now here got numerous result,
you need to smart enough to choose which is the possible and can download one. Then download it.

Some of the result is just a fool.

This is some of my E-books I downloaded. Some even got solutions manual for the exercise and example.

You can use the Adobe Reader to read. You can navigate which chapter you want by click the chapter on the left panel. You can zoom and even search the keywords in the book, very convinient!

Back to SEGi Applying Scholarship

Yesterday I go back to SEGi KD all the way from Ampang for applying my degree scholarship (SEGi-Sheffield Scholarship).

It's so tiring.
I ride on the T323 bus from Taman Melur to Cempaka LRT station,
then by LRT to Masjid Jamek station.
From there, switch to another LRT line to Kelana Jaya station.
After that, I ride on the Ikano free shuttle bus to Ikano.
From Ikano I ride on the Metro 99 bus to SEGi.

The marketting staff Jason help me to photostat my documents.
I Need to write 500 words essay, the reason why you apply this scholarship... >.<

Saw some of my friends there... Here is Calvin and Triven.

I miss the SEGi clock tower...

KL Tower Revolving Restaurant

This is my 3rd time to KL Tower and 1st time taking buffet lunch at the highest restaurant in KL. It is Seri Angkasa Restaurant. What sound special? It is a rotating restaurant, turning one round circumference in two hours. It is an ultimate dating restaurant for you to bring your girlfriend during night time.

This is our last meal sitting together. Triven and Jack go for medicine course, Geoffer and I go for engineering course, while Weng Kai go for pharmacy course.

This is it! Our KL is growing quite fast, I beleive after all the current ongoing development project completed, The KL skyline will more beautiful.

Overall, the food is average, just the view is attractive.
